Wedding Design Rendering

CountDown Events has a very animated team! When we meet our clients and discover their dreams and beautiful ideas for their special day, we are more than excited to come back to the office and start the design process. It is easy to be inspired with our gorgeous fabrics, colour palettes, accessories and inspirational boards. Since every single wedding is custom made for our wonderful couples, we feed off each other’s ideas and creativity. We find that putting a pen to paper helps us visualize and organize our ideas all in one place. In this case, the bride and groom gave us some direction for their reception. It was important to the both of them to have a colourful space. They used words such as magical, moving, elegant and fun. There were some traditional details they wanted to incorporate in a suttle way and mentioned hints of pink & pretty. Our clients loved our drafted ideas so we blended their particulars with our design. This wedding was a success and once again, came together flawlessly.
There are countless steps in between “concept & end product” but here is an example of a design rendering, we recently created for this mystical wedding. We look forward to sharing the images from this wedding with you soon!

Wedding Cake - Traditional Ideas with a Modern Twist

As Canada's Wedding Experts we are often asked about the best and hottest cake trends! Since the wedding season is upon us, we wanted to share one of our favourites! The beloved French wedding cake!

Some of the world’s best bakers are from France - and so is the Croque-en-bouche! This signature dessert is famous for being used at weddings, baptisms and other special events. These cone towers of sweetness are made of cream filled pastries, covered in caramel, almonds, chocolate and can be decorated with ribbons and flowers.

Most would agree that the Croque-en-bouche is a traditional dessert but CountDown Events has used the French delicacy and transformed it with a modern twist. This beautiful pastry is original and completely back in style! If you want to have one for your wedding please let us know and we will happy to help you with arranging for one as your wedding cake!

Royal Wedding - Visit to Canada!

I believe it is safe to say that the Royal Wedding got slightly out of hand with 2.2 billion people worldwide watching this love story. We are revisiting this event since the Prince William and Duchess Catherine will be taking their first trip, as a couple, to Canada on June 30th – July 8th, 2011.

We had a minute to revisit CountDown Events Royal Wedding segment on a Breakfast Television , and had a giggle when we saw that Soha Lavin’s predictions - all came true. It is easy to say, that CountDown Events , a luxe wedding and event planning company, knows how to create and showcase a glamorous bride, or should I say Princess!

Soha Lavin, Canada's wedding expert and event planner extraordinaire, was on ‘Royal Wedding Watch’; CountDown Events Planning & Design, renowned wedding and special events planning company led by Lavin, was committed to capturing every detail of the Royal Wedding - down to the gown, jewels and decor.

Wedding Cake Artisan: Thomas Haas

I haven't yet met anyone that does not LOVE a beautiful cake. For me an all time favourite is one of Thomas Haas's cakes! It is not a typical fancy and intricate CountDown Events cake, but it certainly has the understated elegance we try to infuse in all of our weddings. Tone on tone...the design is so stunning that it stands on it's own without any colour or additional embellishments. I don't think I need to write too much more...enjoy the beautiful pictures...only if we could now also enjoy a slice! xoxo
