At CountDown Events we are infamous for our detailed work. If you have seen one of our weddings then you know how much we LOVE details. You also know that we adore beautiful stationery and invitations. When we plan your wedding we start with the invites as your invitation will be setting the tone for your wedding. "It is truly the first introduction to your wedding and a statement of style by you as the couple to your guests." Soha Lavin our Principal Planner quoted in a recent publication. Before staring on the theme and the design you should have the correct guest count, we also recommend ordering a few extras just in case and as a keepsake. Also keep in mind that the design should be cohesive with the rest of your wedding stationery so if you still don't know for sure which way you are leaning with colors then leave color out and opt for a more simple design to allow for changes later on. If possible we prefer to order all of the stationery at the same time to ensure uniformity.
Here are a couple suggestions to help you pick the perfect invitation for your wedding: • As stated above your invitation sets the mood for your wedding, it tells your guests how formal your wedding will be. The more proper the wording the more formal the wedding, your wording tells your guests who is inviting them. Calligraphy, creative typography, and cursive fonts are always nice additions to any formal wording. • It is tradition to receive the invitations from the bride’s family, however it should be noted that this does not mean that the bride’s family is paying for the wedding. • It is recommended to learn about some of the more formal and traditional wordings from your own culture and/or family history and then decide if you want to follow the tradition or create something new altogether, this decision is really up to you. • Whether they are a calligrapher, a stationery professional, or a poet/writer, asking an expert on what they think the local wedding trends are, is always a great idea. Especially if you are working in the dark on what kind of invitations or wording you should use.

Early this year CountDown Events held a breath taking photoshoot in Maui. Looking back at this year, there has been so many wonderful events and projects that we have worked on but this one is a personal favourite. The saying “a labour of love” is exactly what this photoshoot was… a way to spread style, beauty and love.
We wanted to share this pretty photoshoot with you right away, but since these images were published in a U.S online magazine, we had to be patient. All good things come to those who wait!
The gorgeous team who helped create this CountDown Events vision in Maui was Bella Bloom Maui Florist , Haiku Mill & the amazing Tamiz Photography.
Thank you to everyone who was a part of this project – it was truly a sweet experience and we look forward to our next “labour of love”!
